My, oh my! Do we have an event-full couple of days this week!
FIRST, on Saturday the 18th, we are holding our first Kick Ass Oregon Field Trip! We will be meeting in The Dalles at 10:00 am to visit the new Bigfoot exhibit, check out an actual encounter site, get a burger and beer, and see a few historical markers in Historic The Dalles. It’s a “FREE” event (your transpo, admission and food is up to you, Dude…), and I really hope you can join us. All the deets are HERE.
THEN, on Sunday the 19th at 4:00pm, we will be hosting Shanghaiers, Saloons and Skullduggery: A Walking Tour of Portland’s Sinful Past! Join us as we discuss “Portland’s Naughty Bits,” talking about the seedier things that happened in our “fair” city’s past, and consider if much has changed at all in our current era. It is a fun tour, the cost is only $15, and you’ll walk away with some factoids to impress your friends with. Oh – and the tour ends at Mary’s Club! Tickets can be purchased HERE.
And finally on Tuesday, January 21st, we will be hosting Stumptown Stories at The Jack London Bar (SW 4th and Alder) for a FREE show at 7:30pm. Resident Historian Doug Kenck-Crispin will be discussing Disastrous Oregon!!! Listen as he tells tales of explosions, poisoned eggs, some floods of fairly Biblical proportions, and a bunch of other cataclysmic chapter’s of the Beaver State’s past.
If you don’t catch some Oregon History this week, you just aren’t trying!
