So call it the New Year, call it the Holiday Spirit, call it whatever Happy Horseshit you want, but I woke up this morning (1/1/2014) and decided I’d give a little back… and I’m hoping YOU will want some of what I’m passing around!
How about a FREE Kick Ass Oregon History Bigfoot Field Trip to The Dalles! (Well, kinda free…)
On Saturday, January 18th at 10:00am, we will meet in the parking lot of The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. They have a brand new exhibit on Bigfoot and I REALLY want to check it out! I can’t, obviously, vouch for the quality of the exhibit, but what the hell? Let’s check it out! That’s the “kinda free” part –admission to the museum is $6.50 – the “group rate,” vs. the $9.00 normal admission charge. You gots to pay the $6.50. The Discovery Center is a very cool
museum, even without a Bigfoot exhibit, so you may want to spend a little time checking it out as well.
At about 11:30, we will then leave the museum and visit a nearby trailer park (I’m not shitting you) where a Bigfoot was reported to have made a visit. Resident Historian Doug Kenck-Crispin will give you the straight shit, mainly his interpretation on the History of Bigfoots in Oregon, and about the area around The Dalles specifically, which was a hot bed of Sasquatch activity in the 1970’s. This is the free part – A FREE Bigfoot Tour!
Then we will head into The Dalles proper, and have a burger and a beer at Zim’s Brau Haus (You gots to pay for that too). Afterwards, we will visit a few sites in the town, and just kind of take in The Dalles, a true Oregon Treasure!
So – you have to get to The Dalles on your own – this is not a bus tour. And we will have a little driving between locations. Like the crazy banner says, this info will update regularly as we work out the details, so check back soon! And I hope to see YOU, Dear Ass Kicker, in The Dalles on January 18th. Cause Bigfoots is about as Oregon as it gets!!
