Merry Christmas from KAOH (and Joyous Kwanzaa and Happy Haunkkah too, Baby!)

By oregonhistorian · On November 28, 2014

It is the Holiday Season again, and we have some cool stuff planned for you Ass Kickers this year!

On Christmas Day itself, we are offering a Christmas Version of our renowned walking tour – “Seedy, Seamy Sinful Portland” (with our friends Know Your City). The Naughtiest Walking Tour of the Year, it ends at Mary’s (yes – which is open for Christmas!). We’ll start the tour in Ankeny Alley, right by Voodoo Doughnut at 4:00pm on 12/25. Tickets are only $20, and you can get ’em right here.

But before that, we are heading to the coast for a December 13th Astoria Show! On  Saturday 12/13, Resident Historian Doug Kenck Crispin will give a talk at the Merry Time Bar and Grill. He will chat about some Oregon Christmasses Past, and also about a little boy who stayed in this state for just a few months, AND LATER DIED HERE!!! He stayed in Astoria, and died in the McDermitt area. As disparate and distant as possible corners in the state.

For this year’s Christmas Special podcast, we are doing something a little, uh… different. It will be a podcast only episode (NOT aired on our weekly XRAY.fm / 107.1 FM program), so be sure to look for that in the feed. And of course, you can always listen to our previous Christmas Specials – Oregon’s First Christmas and A Child’s Christmas in (Exploding) Whales.
