“Feelin’ Fine.” History of The Nuclear in Oregon’s Nuclear Family
Please join Resident Historian Doug Kenck-Crispin as he looks at the state’s bizarre relationship with “the nuclear” and other related topics as mirrored in the Simpsons. It’s not one of those “Springfield is really in Oregon” talks- but it’s kinda like one of those Springfield is really in #Oregon” talks...” Art Market PDX is a gallery space, so at this point there is no alcohol sales, but you can absolutely BYOB. There is a Kwik-E-Mart across the street to help facilitate said bringing. $5.

“Eat the Pigs”- Political Graffiti in Portland Protests
Please join Kick Ass Oregon History’s Resident Historian, Doug Kenck-Crispin on Tuesday, July 24th 7:00pm (Doors at 6pm) at Art Market PDX (1125 SE Grand Ave.) for “Eat the Pigs” - Political Grafiti in Portland Protests. Art Market PDX's theme for July is Graffiti! The Resident Historian will present a review of modern political protest history in Portland, the universal heavy-handed responses by the Portland Police Bureau, and the protest slogans and graffiti that emerged from these events. DKC will examine the May 1970 PSU Park Blocks Riot, the Little Beirut protests of the Old Bush era, the July 1993 Anarchist UnConference at the X-Ray Cafe (photo on the flyer), and the August 1998 Daniel Binns birthday party/march/riot. Following the presentation, the 1970 PSU film "The Seventh Day" will be projected. Please join us for this enlightening presentation. #resist Doors at 6pm. $5 cover. Come early and enjoy the gallery's Graffiti art show and curated playlist. DKC will begin talking at 7pm. BYOB or a cold beer with donation. AC like you read about.
