  • « A Pictorial History of Oregon: Glass Lantern Slides from the Oregon Historical Society – Astoria!
  • Oregon’s Birthday Party and Diorama Show in Kick Astoria!! »

More details soon! This Field Trip will cost a few bucks, BUT you will also get a Guaranteed Seat at our “Oregon’s Birthday Party!!” later that night at the Merry Time Bar in Astoria. Oh – and coffee and a pastry too!

It’s Oregon’s Birthday! So in celebration, we will tour some Kick Ass old coastal defense fortifications and talk about when the Japanese shelled and bombed The Beaver State!! In addition, we’ll chat about Japanese balloon bombs, their amazing submarines, some wacky militia fellows on the coast, and FDR signing Executive Order 9066.  All while walking around one of Oregon’s most beautiful state parks, checking out bunkers, cannons, choice observation posts and some sweeeeeeetttt dioramas.!

Ticket price does NOT include the $5 (per car) Day Use Fee assessed by the Oregon State Parks.

And be sure to join us later that evening for Oregon’s Birthday Party in Kick Astoria. We’ll have cake! And you’ll WANT to join us, as your ticket to the Field Trip is also a guarantee of a seat at the show (seats only held until 7:15pm).
