June 2015 sees the 121st anniversary of The Great Flood, which saw the Willamette River reach it’s record height at 33 feet. And we have a AWESOME Field Trip coming up, visiting the sites, looking at old photos, and talking all about it!

On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, we will meet outside of Kell’s at 5:00PM to begin our trip (112 SW 2nd). The Field Trip is $22, and will be limited to only 10 participants. I am assuming the tickets will go pretty fast, so get one now!! We did this tour last year for the 120th, and had tons and tons of fun (you can see some pictures of it on the Facebook Machine). We position ourselves RIGHT where the original photo was taken, and look at the changes that have occurred over the last 121 years. And, of course, talk about that Great Flood of Biblical proportions, and the effect those poopy waters had on Portland.

BUT – we have a great added bonus at the end of this year’s tour. We will journey across the river to Eastside Distilling‘s Tasting Room for a Tasting Party that includes a complimentary cocktail! This isn’t like that shitty Franz Bakery Field Trip you took in 4th Grade – we drink booze on our field trips! What a lovely Portland way to wrap up a tour of one of the greatest events in Portland’s History!

Please note: The Grand Floral Parade is the same day – so it could be a little nutty downtown – but fun nutty we hope!

The Fine Details:

• PLEASE BRING VALID ID. YOU MUST BE 21 TO GO INTO EASTSIDE DISTILLING.
• We WILL walk a lot! Maybe 3 miles! Wear comfortable shoes and be into walking.
• We will meet at Kell’s, and end the tour at the Eastside Distilling Tasting Room on 1512 SE 7th. So obviously, you need to make your transportation plans accordingly. TriMet’s Number 14 runs about every 20 minutes that time of evening back downtown, or Radio Cab could be an option as well.
• There are NO cancellations and NO refunds. Sorry.
• If you have had too much to drink DO NOT DRIVE HOME after the Field Trip. Radio Cab is a great option.
