What’s the Holidays without a little Herstory thrown in the mix… and booze… and designer anti-depressants…
It’s the All Star Cast of Stumptown Stories, and they’ll all be presenting to YOU on December 8th, 2015 at the Jack London Bar (SW 4th and Alder)! Doors at 7:00 pm (21+ only). Come on down for the third night of Chanukah (we’ll light the menorah, baby!) and catch a double shot of Holiday Cheer!
Heather Arndt Anderson will be discussing the old-timey Portland children’s radio classic, the Cinnamon Bear,
Joe Streckert will tell you all about Meier & Frank’s totally bitchin Santaland,
JB Fisher is talking about What Happened to the Martins? A Christmas Mystery,
Finn John will reveal Portland’s Murderous Melodrama of Christmastime 1907,
and Doug Kenck-Crispin will tell you about the Jewish utopia down by Roseburg! Cause it’s Chanukah!
AND there will be a Kick Ass raffle with books by said historians and a bottle of sweet brown stuff that sure goes smooth in your egg nog!
Sober Santa will pay us a visit (although I wouldn’t recommend sitting on his lap… he hasn’t been out of rehab THAT long.) AND your Favorite Holiday Carols will be performed by accordionist Lynn Haldeman!
And while the program is free, there is a suggested Donation of $5. We will shake you down at the door.
Raffle includes: Portland, a Food Biography, Wicked Portland and Portland on the Take. Also – the upcoming ebook The Legend of Polybius and a bottle of sweet brown stuff that kids can’t have!
So come on down to the JLB and join us – Happy Holidays, Baby!
