Fall 2019 Walking Tours! (and a hungover version on 1/1/2020 too!)

By oregonhistorian · On September 14, 2019

Tis The Season for Kick Ass Walking Tours – of the Oregon History variety!

Join Resident Historian, Doug Kenck-Crispin on one of his (almost) monthly Old Town Portland Walking Tours; A Walking Tour of Portland’s Sinful Past: Shanghaiers, Saloons and Skullduggery. The first is the Halloween Edition on October 26th. In this rendition of the tour, DKC adds in all of the neighborhood’s ghost stories he has picked up over the years. Boo! Oh – and free shitty candy, too! He will also feature the tour on November 30th (just after Thanksgiving – no shitty candy), and a special “hungover” edition on New Years Day 2020. These tours are priced at just $18!

And for you folks who don’t care for the group activities, in early November, KAOH will release a self-guided, audio Walking Tour that will lead the listener around many of the Drugstore Cowboy film locations and talk about the impact of the Gus Van Sant film, exactly 30 years after its Portland debut.

Finally, DKC is available to host Private Walking Tours, with as little as five attendees. Just shoot him an email at oregonhistorian[at]gmail to discuss the options. A reasonably priced activity for your office team or family members visiting you in the City of Roses.

If you don’t catch any Oregon History this Fall, you really aren’t trying very hard!
