June Walking Tours!

By oregonhistorian · On May 11, 2019

We would like to invite you to two fun, historical Walking Tours coming up this June! You’ll get a chance to walk around Old Town and have the Resident Historian DKC yell interesting anecdotes at you. Cause you’re allll nerdy like that.

The first is on Saturday, June 8th at 3:00pm. This Walking Tour commemorates the 125th Anniversary of The Great Flood of 1894. On this tour, we walk around to specific locations (buildings, corners, etc.) and look at photographs of that exact spot from June of 1894, when the Willamette was  a record 33 feet above the high water mark. This tour is hosted just once a year, and will be limited to 20 guests. Get your tickets RIGHT HERE.

The second tour of note is our monthly Old Town Walking Tour, which we call “A Walking Tour of Portland’s Sinful Past: Shanghaiers, Saloons and Skullduggery.” If you haven’t been yet, you should come! The tour is on Sunday, June 16th (that’s right, Father’s Day!), at 4:00pm. The price is just $18, and it makes a perfect gift for that Father-type-figure in your life. You should come, and the ticketing link is RIGHT HERE.

Come on out and catch some Oregon History this June!
